On August 12, International Caspian Sea Day, the Caspian Senses Observatory program took place at Sea Breeze — ecological and inclusive, prepared together with the EcoSphere social and ecological center.

Caspian Senses Observatory is conceived as a pilot initiative of citizen observation of the Caspian: it combines environmental research, citizen science and an inclusive approach. The main idea is that anyone can become an observer, researcher and defender of the sea, regardless of age or developmental differences.

The first participants were children living at Sea Breeze and a specially invited group of children with disabilities. At interactive stations they explored the Caspian through sight, hearing, touch and smell: they took simple measurements, looked into the biodiversity of the shoreline, learned to notice and record traces of pollution, and assessed how accessible the beach environment is.
